Workshops, talks and special visits

We have a lot to offer student groups and community groups of all ages. Look out for our advertised range of events. If you have a group that you think would be interested in a workshop / talk with our exhibiting artists, residency artist, or studio artists, please email the Gallery with details.

Volunteers and Interns

Standpoint is a registered charity and we welcome keen and capable volunteers and interns who are interested in gaining experience of a busy artist-run space. We prefer to work with people one day or maximum two days per week over a period of several months, so we can fit around student timetables or paid work, and we get to know you and your strengths and what you prefer to do.

Previous interns have run their own education projects and have been directly involved in exhibitions and events as well as working with artists and helping out with all aspects of the practical and office tasks that need to get done.

If you are interested please email the Gallery with your CV and covering letter, putting 'Intern application' in the subject line of the email. NB we will only contact you if there is a vacancy.

Artist Submissions

Standpoint welcomes submissions from artists and curators. We do not represent artists. All projects and exhibitions are developed in collaboration with artists.

We are NOT a hire space, and curate many of our own projects, hence there are relatively few opportunities per year. We do prefer you to know the space before you send in your submission, and to be patient in your expectations of a response. We tend to programme a year in advance, in blocks of shows, and a good time to send proposals in is by early July each year.

If you are an individual artist, please send a disc including 10 images as jpegs (max 500kb), CV, statement and proposal if appropriate, or email a PDF including this information as one document.

If you are submitting a group show proposal, please post a disc or email a PDF as one document, including your exhibition proposal, plus concise information and several images on each artist. We will collaborate with you - which may include discussing some changes to your proposal.

Please write 'Gallery Submission' in the subject line of your email to the Curator.

Please note that Standpoint is not publically funded, there is no production budget for exhibitions. Funding can be applied for by you where necessary, with our assistance.
