Standpoint residencies facilitate artist development and enable the production of new work in a supportive environment, encouraging artistic exchange and collective working. The residencies are designed to be flexible and responsive to the projects, needs and desired outcomes of individual participants.

The Fenton Arts Trust funding
We are delighted to have received funding from The Fenton Arts Trust to support our residency programme. The Fenton Arts Trust is a charity which focuses its efforts specifically on the support of artists at the beginning of their careers. The grant will allow us to deliver a proactive artist development programme to support and mentor six graduates across two years, providing studio space and culminating in six exhibitions.
This project enables the production of new work in a professional, but nurturing environment that encourages the artist to tap into the expertise and diverse knowledge of Standpoint. The residencies will provide individualised opportunities to develop the artists’ studio practice and create networking opportunities with aim to develop the artist’s expertise and opportunities.
Standpoint Futures Residencies
In 2010 Standpoint initiated the Standpoint Futures visual arts residency programme, a unique opportunity that offers artists from across the UK an intensive introduction to London, and nurtures exchange between London and the wider UK art world. Over this time Standpoint has supported 25 regional artists, providing studio space, accommodation and a bespoke programme of mentoring with leading arts professionals. The programme has received an overwhelmingly positive response and been recognised as an important resource for London curators, gallerists and artists, as well as for our participating artists.
After eight successful years, Standpoint Futures has now completed. However we are delighted that the Futures Residency programme has formed a new partnership with Chisenhale Studios, who hosted the last programme, and to whom we wish every success for the continued development of the project.
